I was shopping last night through auctions and found these VERY short shorts. I didn't buy them but did take some pictures of them to show just how short they were. WOW! I think some SL designers are visiting THERE. LOL

More children's store stuff

A few days ago I made this child figure mannequin. Ok ok, so I didn't make the model just recolored it. ;) The maker had an adorable pink flowery dress on her and I just changed it to blue flowery. There's a little boy mannequin but I haven't had a chance to work on him yet. I loved these and got them for my little children's store that I've been working on.

My next feat is to figure out how to make objects myself. ;) I'm not good with a 3D modeler, but I'm sure going to try!!!

Ok... so back in August 2003 I became a beta tester for the game of THERE. I met a lot of great people, started writing for a virtual newspaper until things went sour (some of ya'll know that fiasco) kinda hung onto THERE after that and now just go in and visit occasionally. In my time there people were rude and would tell you off in a heart-beat, or rather talk about you behind your back and then word would get back to you. It's amazing how people will do such on a game but I guess some can't decipher the difference between rl and virtual reality. But then again I'm not a psychology major but I've often wondered why people do the things they do ingame? Oh well, it brings me to this...

I used to read the THERE forums like it was the gospel. I mean every day, all day, from morning to the time I went to bed. I read all the smartass comments and mean things people would say about each other and I had my speculation that something would happen SOON that would break the mold and the forum would be either shut down or someone was about to have their knuckles slapped with a ruler. Well, it happened. About a month ago THERE had had enough of the bashing and put an end to the mess and set rules. So in a case like this, guess what happened? You betcha... a new forum was created by the snobs (oh excuse me) I mean by the ones that were upset about being silenced and that couldn't say anything nice to anyone and always kissed ass of the staff. Oh yeah, I can name out a few people but I won't call them out and will save what little respect I have for a few people. (and I reiterate "little") So yes, they have created a new forum called thereExpress . Now in case you ask, NO I am not going to join the forum as I don't really have anyone over there that I want to talk to or have anything to say to anyone. I just think it's kinda cliche' that they use a train for a logo. Heh, is this a trainwreck waiting to happen too? Oh well, time will tell and maybe they'll be successful after all. ;)

Visiting, Rose Colored Glasses, and Candy!

I went to THERE last night to see what all my old buddies were up to. Nothing much, just some redecorating, some laughing, and just hanging around. I didn't stay long as I had had a very long day. It was good to see everyone though and I try to pop my head in often. See the snowflakes? The white specks are something my video card does, but it only does it with THERE, not any other games I play. *weird*

Above is a set of rose colored glasses that I recolored from www.simkitchen.com. The designer made a crystal set and I made this rose recolor for those that wanted to make a crystal store or have a different colored set. It turned out really pretty. I did make a deep green champagne flute but forgot to take a picture of it. I'll post pictures of it when I finish that set.

And last is a candy display set where sims can buy tootsie rolls, suckers, and various hard candies that I made from HChanger's potpourri display. It turned out quite nice. I wish I could have done a little bit better on the sign though.

Anyway, back to my recoloring addiction. :)

Baby Thermometer Recolors for Sims2

Ok so I'm on a Sims2 kick and have started recoloring things. I'M LOVING IT!!!! Here's another recolor I did of a "simple box" and made some baby thermometers. I've also got a diaper genie, and a not so well looking baby monitor. Both are in boxes and sellable for stores.
Now I'm just trying to figure out a way to create my own website for all of these items that I'm recoloring. I hope to also figure out how to mesh and make objects for the game. :)

Ok, so I'll admit that I have a new addiction. *grins* I'm on a recolor frenzy and am loving it! Today when I got in from work I found these baby bottles that I had downloaded and the designer only made them in one color. Well of course I wanted more than one color for my store so I thought this would be a good start. The original bottle is the green set that's on the bottom shelf and I made the top three colors in pink, yellow, and blue. And they look great!!!!!

Recoloring objects in Sims2

Tonight I was determined to figure out how to recolor objects for Sims2. I figured out how to make my own pictures but was dying to learn how to recolor objects for the game the way that I want them. So, tonight I used a tutorial that I found and took the vase sculpture (the original Sims one is on the left, the cream one) and I exported the texture, played with it in Photoshop and imported it back into the game with the new pink/lavender look. YAY! Below is my finished product and I am very pleased!

Ok well I couldn't sleep tonight and took these pictures this past weekend and so I thought I'd blog about them tonight. I love creating objects for Sim2, THERE, and SL. It's kinda like a creative outlet for me. Well this weekend I studied and studied and finally figured out how to make my own pictures in the game. WOW, an art gallery?! Ok, just joking but I honestly think this pictures is so adorable. It's one of Anne Geddes and I took SimsPE and made the picture as you can see below. I also found some great clothing and swimsuit pictures that I'm going to use as posters for my beach store. Anyway, just was sleepless and wanted to share.

Creating Clothes!

Ok so I've always wanted to create things for games that I play. I've made clothes for THERE, SL, and wanted to try my hand at making some for Sims2. Now I'm not perfect and don't sell many of my creations because I personally don't think they are that good. I've been told otherwise by friends but I'd rather keep these to myself for my own criticism for now.

Tonight while doing a little looking around I found a tutorial on how to make some clothes for Sims2. In the tutorial you can go from this picture above and end with the picture below. The tutorial comes from Mod The Sims2 and there are some GREAT tutorials there for even beginning Photoshop users. I promise once you start designing, you'll be hooked! Good luck and let me know how it goes and what you made. I also believe that a lot of the techniques used in the above tutorial is how a lot of designers copy (oops) I mean design clothes for THERE and SL. *laughs loudly*

Internet Stalker

I will be the first to say that the Internet is a very scary place. You never know who is on the other end of the computer. I've been stupid and have trusted many people throughout my years of online gaming and playing online. I try not to let too much information out about my real life and feel if anyone needs to know anything about me it'll be on a need to know basis. I'll answer if need be and otherwise it's none of your business. Also in my online world of gaming I've encountered people that take the game way to serious while I have met a few joksters and clowns and people that like to have fun.

I was recently talking to a friend about an instance where one person was stalking another. They'd watch them constantly, look at their gaming profile, their website, their blog, even go their virtual world house just to look around and see what this person was doing. How far is too far? Do they honestly think that people don't know? Is there a law against Internet stalking? It was advised to ignore the person and just let them act like a fool. Should they do something wrong, then report them to the proper authorities whether it be gmail, yahoo, THERE, or SL, etc. Some people need to act their age and need to grow up. Enjoy your real life people and make some real friends occasionally.

My first gaming experience came from playing the Sims about 7 years ago. (Gosh it doesn't seem that long!) From there, I've playing numerous games - some online and some just alone on my computer. I have recently started playing Sim2 again to enjoy my creative touch and build some houses. I share them with a good friend of mine that plays also and we swap and share great finds. I'm always hunting for rare and talented finds for my sims or their houses. Today in my search I came across this set of hair and downloaded it and the mesh. I'm not sure which color I like but will try them all out of course. The headline looks a little funny but I'm sure it's a LOT better than I could ever do.

Well I heard that Toyota built a store to showcase their Scions I just had to go get a looksie and check them out. I have a Toyota Camry and love my car so I knew that I'd probably like these (as long as it wasn't a mini-van lookin' thing). Well much to my surprise I found the place by typing "Toyota" in the search and immediately teleported right to their showroom. They have several vehicles and I was immediately drawn to the silverish one. I took it for a test drive (they only give you about two minutes to drive it before it "poofs"... then you have to walk back to the showroom to test it again or buy one) and well, I immediately loved it and bought it! For only $300L how can I pass up a deal like that?

They have several different models there and different styles. Then when you buy one you can customize it - change the wheels and color. It also gives you a little speedometer to let you know how fast your going. Pretty clever I must say! So on behalf of Toyota, go test drive and buy yours today! *hehe*

Everything changes

I went and caught up with a few of my old friends in THERE and glad I did as one of them was having a birthday. It was good to chat and relax a bit and look at some of the new creations some of the players have made. The talent that some of those people have with gmax is amazing to me. I dabbled with gmax and was able to make a square box with the help of Twiddler's tutorial but that's about as far as it got. I took a few pictures since we all were just gathered around yapping and it was good to catch up with them. One of the guys told me that he's about to move his rl girlfriend to his town and they will be together very soon. I was so happy to hear that as they are both truely wonderful and caring people. *hugs* I wish you all the best!

This is one of the houses that caught my eye and I just had to take a picture of it. I wasn't able to go inside as the residents weren't home but it's an adorable split level house with a two car garage and a basement! I love it!!! I think it's in three pieces (at least two) and I just might have to spring for some Tbucks and buy this beauty!

Next was this nice flowing river. When I saw this I just had to capture the moment and think of the birds singing and butterflies flying around everywhere. The scene was truely breathtaking. I believe it's time for some spring cleaning! Yardsales anyone?

When I was a little girl I had a large collection of Barbies, Kens, and Skippers. I made them houses out of shoe boxes, shirt boxes - once they were even lucky and got an empty microwave box. Then one Christmas my parents feeling sorry for poor Barbie got me the Barbie Dream House and it was beautiful, all pink and purple and decorated with new furnitre. Of course I had to move her in quickly but always kept her microwave box-house nearby in case her and Ken split up.

Is that what we do in THERE and SL? Do we play "house" with our avatars like we did when we were younger? Do we dress them up and take them swimming and driving around in cars as we did in the old days. What do you like to do most with your sim/avatar?

Also buying a house and land to put your "Barbie and Ken" can cost about as much as those old Barbie houses did long ago. In SL you have to figure out what type of prim house and land you want, buy the land and then find a house to suit your needs. You can spend anywhere from $10 USD to over $1,000 depending on your pocket book and taste.

In THERE it's a little bit easier to find land and make yourself a home. You first have to start out with a paz and then buy a house for it. Depending on the style and how new the house is, you can average about $50 USD to get started with a fairly decent house there. Then you hit up yardsales or the auctions for furnishings then you're all set to play with your "Barbie and Ken" and find people with the same interests that you do to go dancing, play cards or games, ride around in automobiles or just simply go shopping. Ahhh, the good life of being an avatar.

Clothing template for THERE

Clothing template for SL

Ever wanted to create clothes for SL or THERE? It's not easy but with a little bit of skill you can get it done. Now I'm not perfect like other designers and when I do make something I make it for my own closet and not to share yet. I've made a few things and have a private collection in both games and have been told that I should sell them, but I don't think so just yet. You learn a few tips and tricks of the trade and do find that a LOT of the clothes are copied straight off of clothing websites. (Yes I've found a few and have shared my findings with a few friends and got a good laugh out of it.) Original artwork? No... just call it copy and paste to a template like the one for SL and THERE above. I've somewhat learned the procedure and yes, it's quite simple if you know Photoshop or Paintshop pretty well. Who knows, maybe one day I'll get the courage to do the same.... until then, happy selling and creating!

I've always been one to "test the waters or boundries" so to speak. I've always been one to walk on thin ice and I learn the hard way. In the gaming world you have to be cautious as you never know what's on the other end of the monitor that you may be talking to. Some people pose as others and if you give out too much information about yourself (even your password) things can become very dangerous for your real live. Once in a blue moon some great friendships can come from internet online games and sometimes bad things happen as you see it in the news all the time. If there's ever anything I can relate to ANY of my friends, it's to be very careful who you talk to and let into your inner circle and do NOT, DO NOT give out information about yourself. You will also protect your heart and your feelings if you follow this simple rule. Just be careful friends!

Eyup! It's out today and I'm headed at lunch to go get it. I've become a downloading fool recently finding freebie downloads of furniture, clothes, lots, builds, etc. My poor game is bogged down but I'm so excited to see this expansion pack. I'm not exactly sure what all it has in it, but I'm thinking that it has a weather pack maybe? Like rain, tornadoes or snow blizzards? Gosh I dunno, I guess I'll find out when I buy it. There's also new items and outfits in it too. I downloaded some programs and am trying my skill at recoloring items for the game and also making new items to share for others to download. If I get really good, I may consider making a Sims2 Download website to share. Whew I think I'm getting ahead of myself. :)

The More You Tip The More She Strips

I was just shopping on SL exchange and saw this and just had to chuckle. The more you tip this "cut out/"cardboard" scripted " bartender the more she strips.

*Description*
Here is the new advancement in Female SL Bartenders. The more she is tipped, the more she strips. If payed 1L to 5L, she strips to a bathing suit. If 6L -19L, topless and 20L and up she strips naked. Cute blonde avator.
This bartender has over 65 drinks and a very easy menu. When clicked on the bartender removes her clothes for 8 seconds and also gives the customer a blue menu in the top right of their screen. The menu gives them the option of Beers, Cocktails, Martinis And Margaritas, Hard Liquors, Wine And Champagne, Rum, Soft Drinks, After Diner Drinks, Other great drinks and an information button. When each of these buttons are clicked on, it gives the user another menu of the drinks in the category between 5-10 drinks. Also the text above the bartender is fully modifiable. The image is cut out and the background is transparent to make it look real. Tip it 1L 5L 10L.

*Oh, and a side note... you better look fast when you tip her cause you only get 8 seconds seeing her nekid (lmao) before the script resets and she becomes clothed again. I didn't post the other pictures available to see her stages of nakedness but feel free to click the link above for your viewing pleasure. NSFW

Decisions, decisions

Most of you have heard of "writer's block"... well I have a bad case of "builder's block". I am at a loss of what would be good to build lately. I made a baby furniture store and it went ok. It had a lot of visitors and I think people mostly came for ideas and then went and made the stuff themselves. I took it down but still have the items and could even make better baby things as the baby boom seems to be on the rise again from what I hear. Me personally, I don't have a baby and never purchased one but love all the cutsie little things that you can make.

My next thing that I made was some western items for a country bar that I had and those sold pretty good. I had builders block with it too as I ran out of ideas for it.

Then I made a few antiques - a teapot set, an antique settee' and table with lace runners, an old timey phone, etc. but those didn't seem to be needed very much.

I'm not good at building houses... I built one and still have it tucked away. It's a cute little colonial house; one bedroom/bath/kitchen/living room with a front porch and columns for decoration. It's quite comfortable but needs a few touches here and there.

I'd like to start a new venture other than these and I'm unsure what. I'll keep thinking on it though.

Catching up

Well it seems I'm not all forgotten in the world of THERE. I went and chatted with an old friend this weekend and caught up on lost time. Things seem to be well for most of my old friends ingame and I have really missed talking with them. Also while I was there, I took a little peek at shopping and boy have things really been added and changed! The clothes are great and there's some magnificent houses that have been made. I just might have to buy me one and plop down a paz somewhere. (Wish land was as easy to find in SL) I skimmed my inventory and had forgotten most of the items I have in there. I wonder if any of it is worth anything, ;) (probably not) most of my items are sentimental and things I have gathered over the past years. Well I must say that I have really missed those black fuzzy bunnies.

Sleeping Beauty

I visited THERE this evening and went back to my old stomping grounds. It brought back a lot of good memories where I made a lot of friendships. I left my avie sleeping there back in the early summer and the poor thing has been in bed all this time. I enjoyed my life in THERE and wonder if anyone will even remember me. How much has changed and what is new? Maybe I'll run into some familiar faces soon and possibly even meet some new people. May even try to design a few things again. It's almost spring and I could use a new update to my THERE closet. Anyone up for a shopping trip?

While in SL, I have encountered my first furry experience. Now many many years ago I was a registered user of a Moo (also known as a muck to some) and there was a furry or two there but I had never actually "seen" one until coming to SL. Many people do many things with their furry avatar and they range in prices, look, and also various animals. I purchased this skin/shape while shopping with a friend a while back and thought she was pretty. I didn't play with her much but a couple of times and didn't know if I should just walk around and purr or actually talk like a human. The shape came with an AO that will let you walk on all fours, growel, purr, and leave footprints when you run around. I will say that the hardest part about being a furry is finding clothes for them and I think that was why I didn't use it much. On a side note, if you do get a furry avatar be sure to find clothes that are editable so you can make them work around the shape you want. It's fun to be different looking every once in a while.

How do I feel about this? I honestly think this will give them a boost for the users that play THERE because you're able to run around like a chicken with your head cut off and yell to your heart's content. Ok well not really yell, as I've encountered "yellers" in THERE and you just wanna smack them upside their avatar head or slap the shiot out of them one (after your ears quit ringing of course). Anyway, with all that SL has to offer and people seem to be playing both worlds I think SL might move up the ladder a little bit. As for me, I can type or voice - take it or leave it as it doesn't really matter much to me. I'll still be around in both to enjoy the updates and learn what they might do next.

Welcome… If you’re here, I’m guessing that you have an interest in something I have to say so pull up a chair and stay a while.

What I do here will be somewhat different than a blogroll. I’ll post here my adventures and anything post worthy about me or my gaming adventures. As some of you know I play SecondLife and also THERE. I haven’t been in THERE too much lately but still visit to see the happenings and goings on. When I’m not doing one of those I’m playing Sims2 and downloading all types of various things for my little simmies to do/wear/and have.

In my many years of gaming, I’ve done several things and met some very wonderful people and made some great friendships. I’ve been a jack of all trades and have written for a virtual newspaper, designed a few clothes, painted a few group seatings, been a landlord, owned a country-western bar, built a few houses… (ok so they were shacks) and held a few fun events.
